About Me

I became increasingly interested in photography whilst studying for my Visual Arts degree at Lancaster University. I was able to link darkroom practice with illustration techniques as well as creating black and white landscape photography.

Once I graduated, my photography continued in my spare time as I embarked on a career as a primary school teacher. Moving to part-time teaching allowed me the opportunity to resume my photography and illustration work; I was able to set up my own darkroom at home and after nearly twenty years I was able to develop and print my own images again!

A move from lovely Derbyshire to the equally beautiful Yorkshire Dales has given me the opportunity to give up teaching completely. I am now setting up a new darkroom and studio space - exciting times!
